More and more medical and other health professions schools have started adopting various forms of virtual screening assessments to support their holistic admissions strategy. In general, these tools are designed to assess applicants' competencies, decision-making, and ethics.  Let's look at at the most common ones.

Getting a job offer is a huge sense of relief after years of hard work and finding your way. However, we understand that getting an offer this early on can bring both joy and stress. The “grass is always greener” feeling may come up during this time period -- that’s normal.

UM Reference Letter Service (RLS) - Transition to Closure

Nationally, institutions have discontinued their reference letter services due to changing technologies and niche application services. UM is one of the last large institutions to host its Reference Letter Service.

 

2012 – 2017

  • The University Career Center (UCC) devises a 5-year plan to phase out RLS (vetted by key stakeholders on the Ann Arbor campus)
  • File holders are informed of the June 30, 2018 closure
