Elizabeth Schaller

Elizabeth Schaller, Recruitment Coordinator

ELIZABETH'S PICK: 2020 Full-Time - Inventory Management Specialist at Walmart Corp.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 31st, 2019

Walmart Corp has been on campus a ton this past semester as they are actively wanting to engage and recruit top U-M talent! They will also be back for the Winter Job and Internship Fair on February 4th. The Walmart family of brands is extensive. It includes Sam's Club, Jet.com, Hayneedle, Modcloth, Moosejaw, and many more! I chose this position because of how engaged they are with our students. And although this is a supply chain position they are open to students from a broad range of majors. I found this position by using the advanced filters within Handshake, selected 'Retail Stores' as the industry, and 'Logistics and Supply Chain' for the job function. They are looking for seniors, master students, and alumni. In addition to applying to this position we highly recommend connecting with alumni who work at Walmart on UCAN or LinkedIn!

Andree Joyaux

Andree Joyaux, Recruitment Coordinator

ANDREE'S PICK: Paid Summer Internship at the National Gallery of Art
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 12th, 2020

I used the "Job Type" filter to find internships in Handshake. Then I sorted the list of internships by "Employer" name and found this position at the National Gallery. What a great opportunity to mix arts and business (which usually is hard to find)!

This internship focuses on all kinds of functions and roles at the National Gallery, including education, business, technology, architecture, planning, and more. And it's open to a wide variety of majors.

You can learn about the arts, arts administration, non-for-profit operations, and business all in one role. And living in D.C. will give you significant exposure to government organizations/roles given the National Gallery is located in Washington, D.C., where much of the work is focused on the federal government.
