Pre-Professional Services Coordinator
University Career Center

Hi, my name is Nick, and I am the Pre-Professional Services Coordinator at the UCC. I support U-M Pre-Health and Pre-Law students as they navigate planning their careers, including exploring career options, pursuing volunteer and other experiences outside of the classroom, and understanding the various considerations necessary for applying to programs. Aside from working 1 on 1 with U-M students, I manage the UCC’s Health and Law career tracks, as well as our Med App and Gearing Up to Apply (GUTA) canvas sites. I also plan and co-coordinate our Health & Medical School Fair, Law Day, and other UCC sponsored events.

I received my Master's Degree in Literature and Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at Eastern Michigan University. I have several years of experience working in higher education as a lecturer and writing consultant. Prior to joining the UCC, I worked at Michigan Works! as a career coach, where I helped underemployed and unemployed individuals obtain degrees and credentials to pursue new employment opportunities. I love my work at the UCC because it allows me to continue working with higher ed. students while still having the career focused conversations that excite me.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my partner and daughter, as well as our two dogs and three cats. I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, reading poetry, and playing video games. I also enjoy programming and have completed a bootcamp for full-stack JavaScript web development. My crowning achievement is a George Costanza poetry generator I call "Co-Stanza."
