Med App & GUTA: U-M Medical School Application Canvas Sites
The University Career Center manages two Canvas sites to help prospective medical school applicants organize, prepare, and navigate their application process:
- Med App: A year-long resource for each application cycle (spring to spring). Subscribers receive online group coaching, timely updates, application tips, and announcements about events, opportunities, and articles relevant to (pre-)medical education and practice.

Gearing Up to Apply to Medical School (GUTA): A short-term, virtual Canvas course held during Winter semester to help students get organized and ready for applications. Designed for students applying in summer 2026 (for 2027 matriculation). Through modules, announcements, and to-do lists, GUTA keeps students on track as primary application season approaches.
GUTA Registration is currently closed.
Who Can Subscribe?
- Prospective applicants are welcome to subscribe to either or both Canvas sites to familiarize themselves with the medical school application's components, timelines, and mechanics.
- These FREE resources are exclusively for individual and personal use of UM Ann Arbor degree-seeking students and alumni/ae applying to medical school.
