Consulting Firms on Campus

Are you interested in a career in consulting?  If so, it's important to know that there are a number of consulting firms that recruit UM students and they visit campus early in the fall.

What does this mean for you?  If you are a senior it means you need to activate and use your Career Center Connector (C3) account on a regular basis:

•  Check the Workshops and Employer Events tab for information sessions/employer presentations.  They are often the first 2-3 weeks of fall semester and are a great first step for connecting with firms.

• Review resume submission deadlines outlined in C3.  Submiting resumes to  the organizations is the first step in trying to schedule an interview.

• Check the list of organizations attending our Fall  Career Expo

• Prepare...and prepare some more!  Consulting interviews are notoriously competitive and you need to be prepared to present your story during behavioral and case study interviews.

Are you a junior, sophomore or 1st year student considering consulting?

•  Log into your C3 account and check the Workshops and Employer Events tab for information sessions/employer presentations. These sessions will give you a real sense of what it means to be a consultant

• Connect with other students exploring consulting. Use the Maize Pages to find student groups you can join

• Participate in classes that develop your problem-solving, research and quantitative skills.
