WHAT ARE EMPLOYER CHALLENGES?

The UCC Employer Challenge allows students to build deep connections with organizations through short-term, mini-projects are presented in person or virtually for our employer representatives.

The goal of the Employer Challenge is not only to help students better understand different areas of work but also to receive critical feedback on the content, creativity, and overall
presentation of their final project from the employer sponsor.

CHALLENGE OVERVIEW

Case Distribution (Wednesday)
The UCC team will distribute all case materials via email

Employer Office Hours (Friday)
At least one team member attends this session to ask clarifying questions of the employer partner

Working Time (During the week)
Teams will develop a 5-minute presentation to address the case

Final Presentations (Friday)
Teams will present for the employer partner and engage in a 5 min Q&A session about their work

Winners Announced (The Following Week)
The UCC will notify everyone of the winners and provide team feedback from the employer

What criteria are teams assessed on?
Teams will be assessed on presentation, creativity and innovation, critical thinking/problem solving, leadership and professionalism, and estimated impact and results

Can I see examples of past challenges?
Yes! Past student presentations are available in our student resource folder.

How do I sign up?
You may sign up via Handshake as a team (2-4 students) or individually to be matched with a team. Consider forming a team of diverse years and academic interests!
