University Career Center

UM students have taken a variety of paths to pursue their interest in consulting.  There are several types of consulting or practice areas and common paths for UM students have included mangement, strategy, human resources or IT consulting.  Energy, finance, pharmaceutical and health care consulting are examples of other practice areas.

With so many options, now is a good time to explore your interests in greater depth.  Consider these questions:

• what sparks your intellectual curiosity?
• what do you enjoy about research?
• what practice areas interest you?

Think about what appeals to you and start to build your community.
