University Career Center

The UM Reference Letter Service will close permanently on June 30, 2018.  Please plan accordingly and send all questions to or 734/764-7459.

Due to the size of the University of Michigan pre-health student body, in lieu of a formal pre-health committee, the University Career Center’s Reference Letter Service (RLS) has historically served as the centralized location for housing reference letters written in support of application to dental schools.  However, in light of the upcoming closure of the UM RLS on June 30, 2018, if you are applying to dental school for the 2018-2019 cycles or beyond, you should plan to either have your recommenders upload their letters directly to AADSAS--once those application cycles start--or you may wish to establish a file with Interfolio in advance for future use.  See  instructions for Interfolio's Dossier Service.

If you are a student or alum currently applying to dental school and have a file with the RLS, upon your request, the RLS will forward your letters directly to individual dental schools and/or to the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS).  To indicate your intention to have your letters sent as a "packet" by the RLS:

  1. From within your AADSAS application complete the Evaluator's section as shown below and
  2. Submit a request to the RLS to send your letters to AADSAS.

For questions, please contact the RLS at 734/764-7459 during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am–5pm) or send an e-mail to
