Finding an internship can be very stressful. Where do you begin? How do you find the internship you are looking for? Is your resume in tip-top shape? Do you know how to write an effective cover letter? The University Career Center (UCC) is the resource for you to answer all of these questions.
This past 'Ready, Set, Intern!' workshop on September 13th showed students how to find internship opportunities, how to make an appointment with the UCC, how Handshake and LinkedIn work, and much more. The workshop also explained to students how to take advantage of the UCC, as a resource, by describing opportunities they offer such as Career Crawls, Immersions, and employer information sessions.
The workshop consisted of freshmen with a wide variety of majors and interests. The event provided students with activities to exemplify the wide variety of careeers each major can have, assessments for student's personal interests, and a glimpse of what employers are looking for.
If you missed this session but want to learn more about the internship process there are more 'Ready, Set, Intern!' events on October 12th, 20th, and 26th at the University Career Center. All are welcome to attend. Stop stressing about internships and let the UCC help you make this process easier!
