GENI'S PICK: Public Relations Intern - Alice + Olivia


If you are someone who has wondered about how certain clothes get featured on the pages of a fashion magazine, or how a celebrity turns up to a premiere wearing a certain designer, than working in fashion PR might be a good fit! The clothing brand Alice + Olivia has several openings for spring interns including a position on their Public Relations team. Sample responsibilities include, "be hands-on with helping to prep celebrity/VIP fittings, find fashion scoops, and assist on press re-see days."  Ready to take the plunge into the world of high-fashion? JOELLE'S PICK: City Year Detroit Mid Year Americops Member Position - City Year

Have you ever heard of bridging the gap? The gap that stands between students and their potential. This position would allow you to help children in communities were external factors and obstacles challenge students every day that can interfere with their education. If you value this type of service and work this would be a great experience. I have personal worked with past City Year folks and seen the wonderful skill sets that individuals develop by giving back to communities.  

At City Year, they believe education has the power to help every child reach his or her potential. The role of a City Year Americorps Member is tremendously rewarding, but far from easy, which is why they selective by an application process. It is good to note that 1 in 4 applicants are chosen. City Year Americorps Members are as diverse a group as the communities they serve.  They look for individuals who have a desire to work alongside teachers and their peers to support the students who need that extra attention, to work on a diverse team, and who are ready to make a difference through a challenging and fulfilling experience.
