Flyer for Feb. 18th's Cool Jobs & Internship Staff Picks

UPDATE: The Career Center has transitioned to a new platform called "Handshake". Career Center Connector is no longer accessible and has been replaced by Handshake.

Every Wednesday, join us here as we plan to highlight a few positions that we think you'll find particularly interesting. Learn more by checking out each pick on the Career Center Connector (C3). While you're there, see what other interesting opportunities you find! C3 is a great way to start exploring your career options and it is also the best way to stay informed on what you need to know as a job or internship seeker while you're a student here at U of M. Besides housing a resume builder, C3 also contains information about employer presentations, career fairs, work-shops, and on-campus interviews.

AMY'S PICK: Brand Specialist (RUP) - Amazon
JOB ID: 52066

One of the many things I enjoy about working at The Career Center is getting to interact with employers who represent some of the biggest brands in the U.S. and beyond. Amazon is one of these ubiquitous names. I'm a shopper. Online and in stores. When I conduced an Advanced Search-Full Time Permanent-Job Function Brand/Product Management I was looking for jobs that represent my love of shopping and interest in brands. The Amazon position immediately interested me. Brand Specialists at Amazon work across buying, inventory, and marketing. With a company motto of Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History. I can't think of a cooler opportunity.

VERONICA'S PICK: Global Sales Organization Intern - LinkedIn
JOB ID: 52074

I chose to highlight this internship for a few reasons. The first is - it's LinkedIn, which is awesome! Second, I found it by searching on “Advanced Search” for Internships in Florida. This internship is not in Florida. It’s in either San Francisco, New York or Chicago! I only found this out by reading to the end of the job description. I encourage you, as you are doing your searches, to not overlook the postings that have the location as “nationwide” because that could mean an office in Chicago or closer to home! I’d also advise to actually use fewer filters while searching on the Career Center Connector and look at postings that may not initially look like something you’re interested in based on the title or location. Some might surprise you!

SALLY'S PICK: Intern, Philanthropy Magazine - The Philanthropy Roundtable
JOB ID: 50932

I've met a number of students interested in developing their writing skills and C3 includes a variety of postings that focus on this interest.  This internship caught my eye because it combines the opportunity to write with exposure to the world of philanthropy. In addition to writing for the quarterly magazine, you'll work with the managing editor and publications team.
