NATE'S PICK: Human Resources Internship / Co-Op (Summer 2016) at Tesla Motors
APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 21, 2016

I had a hard time picking a position this week — because there are a lot of great choices. I narrowed it down to three though: TeslaNBC Universal, and SPORK!

The video editor position at SPORK! stood out to me because of their commitment to advocating for individuals with cognitive, physical, and non-apparent differences. I think the experience there would open your eyes to so many things that we as a community could be doing better so that everyone has the same great experience(s) in life.

The NBC Universal internship stood out because of my past experience meeting a U of M student who interned there a couple of years ago. She spoke about all the amazing opportunities she had and so I think, in the sense of being able to learn a lot from multiple people & departments, this would be a great experience for you as well.

Ultimately however I’m recommending Tesla because I’m a huge fan of the way they are (potentially) disrupting the automative industry. I believe their new Model 3 has 200,000 reservations/deposits (and counting) and it’s exciting to see what they’re going to do next. They remind me (and a lot of others) of Apple when Steve Jobs came back right before the launch of the iPod.

If things end up heading in a similar path as Apple then as a fan of technology and automotive endeavors I strongly encourage you to check out Tesla to see if there’s a fit for you — if you’re interested in that space too :-)
