ANDREE'S PICK: Legislative Intern at the Michigan House of Representatives

Check this opportunity out (unpaid, but academic credit may be available) if you would like to learn about the legislative process. The Michigan House of Representatives is currently looking to fill several internship positions in the Lansing offices. If you are interested in working in constituent relations, communications and legislation monitoring, this position is for you. During their two-year tenure, Representatives will introduce and vote on over 4,000 bills. An estimated 600 to 800 of these will become law. Legislators and legislative committees spend many hours of work on each bill before the bill is sent to the House floor for consideration.

JOELLE'S PICK: Sports Performance Specialist Intern at Redline Athletics

Interns will have the opportunity to shadow Sports Performance Specialists (SPS) Coaches and once approved by Director of Sports Performance (DSP), can train athletes in strength, conditioning, and sport-specific skills development. As an intern, you would have the opportunity to complement hands-on learning experience with participation in our weekly staff meetings which focuses on continuing education. SPS focuses on continuing education in a classroom-style learning environment. They also work closely with their interns to develop coaching, assessment and program-design skill sets to compliment career aspirations within the fitness industry.
