ANDREE'S PICK: U.S. Food & Drug Administration internship

This FDA position is a cool opportunity because it provides broad exposure to the public health and life sciences fields and because it requires use of both liberal arts/humanities skills (e.g., writing, communications, client relationship management) and science/engineering/technology skills (e.g., data analysis, risk assessment, social science methods, etc.).

In addition, the FDA is a large government agency with lots of room to grow, amazing opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, and an inspiring purpose: protecting the public health. The FDA sends staff members across the country and around the world, and is arguably one of the most powerful and influential organizations in the life sciences field.

Sounds like a great experience to me!

STUDENT'S PICK: Intern/Part-time Organizer at Clean Water Action

Clean Water Action is a non-profit organization focused on keeping America's waters clean through grassroots organizing and political advocacy. In Michigan, the organization is working on shutting down a pipeline which runs under the Straits of Mackinac in the hopes of preventing an oil spill from occurring.

Interns are responsible for raising awareness in their communities, fundraising, and participating in press conferences and lobby days. The position is paid and the company is located in Lansing, Michigan. This seems like an awesome opportunity to get involved in your community and help protect America's waters, while gaining valuable experience in advocacy and community service.

SALLY'S PICK: Account Executive at Halo Pet Foods

This week's pick was inspired by my pets:  Treasure and Pickles!

Using "Pets" in the "Keyword" search, I found a position that requires you to be passionate about pets and have a genuine interest in the well-being of pets.

As an Account Executive for Halo Pet Foods you'll manage day-to-day customer relationships; lead all store employee education and training; and develop and execute cross merchandising opportunities.

A position that combines sales/marketing AND working for the welfare of pets seems like a great opportunity!
