Andree Joyaux, Recruitment Coordinator

ANDREE'S PICK: Rotational Program in Early-Phase Drug Discovery at AstraZeneca

If you want to use your science degree in industry, this is the position for you!

This is an opportunity to apply your love of science and your passion for health to the business side of a leading pharmaceutical company. The program includes three 8-month rotations at three AstraZeneca locations (Boston, Sweden and the United Kingdom) in different functional areas. So you gain a breadth of experience while also building relationships with colleagues across the company.

What's more, AstraZeneca is one of only a few pharma/biotech companies to span the entire value chain of a medicine from start to finish -- all the way from drug discovery, to early development and then late-stage development, and continuing to manufacturing and distribution of the final product. After this kind of experience, you will have learned a great deal about the pharma industry and had experience at a top company which you can then leverage into your next position -- either at AstraZeneca or another employer.

AstraZeneca is active in more than 100 countries with a growing presence in emerging markets such as China, Brazil, Mexico and Russia. AZ employs 59,000+ people and invests over $4 billion in research & development each year.

I found this by searching "Employers" in Handshake for AstraZeneca. First, I Googled a list of the top 20 pharma/biotech companies in the country and then I searched for each company by name in Handshake to see what kinds of positions they posted for U-M students. There are lots!
