Acceptances
If you have been accepted to medical school—congratulations!
The next steps for you will be preparing to finance your medical
school education by filling out a Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) and investigating
and applying for other funding sources, if applicable. You may wish
to visit the AAMC web page for more information about financing
medical school.
After extending an admission offer, the majority of allopathic
medical (MD) schools will require some form of deposit and/or a
written communication from the students outlining their formal acceptance
of the admission offer. For more information on AAMC traffic rules
and recommendations go to www.aamc.org/students/applying/policies/applicants.htm.
For AACOM Applicant Protocol and Admission Guidelines, please download the relevant sections from the Osteopathic Medical College Information Book at http://www.aacom.org/resources/bookstore/cib/Pages/default.aspx. Osteopathic medical schools tend to require larger deposits than allopathic medical schools (even in excess of $1,000) and these deposits may be non-refundable although they can usually be applied toward the first term tuition payment.
