At The Career Center, Mariella coordinates pre-med, pre-health, and pre-law services. In particular, she enjoys coaching UM students through their application efforts. She serves as Career Center liaison to several student groups and departments and is the founding advisor of the Michigan Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, national honorary pre-health society. Mariella also supervises the UM Reference Letter Service.
Mariella is an active member of the Central and National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions and has served on a number of national boards, committees and taskforces over the years. In 2010 Mariella received the CAAHP Fr. Joseph L. Walter Award in recognition of her contributions to the health professions advising community. Mariella is a former president of the Midwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors and has served as MAPLA representative to the Pre-Law Advisor’s National Council.
Mariella hails from Rome, Italy, and even after many years in the U.S., still maintains a tight bond with her culture and heritage, teaching - among other things - Italian classes through the Michigan Chapter of the Dante Alighieri Society.
