Parents: A Critical Link
As a parent, there are many ways that you can have a positive
impact on your student's career development process. In fact, students
often identify their parents as a primary source of career information
and support. Students will experience the need for career help
at different times depending on individual circumstances. Whenever
that happens for your son or daughter, we hope that you will encourage
your student to become familiar with the resources at The Career
Center.
The links on the right can help you understand the career development
issues most students experience, and ways that you can support your
students throughout their time at Michigan.
- A Parents’ Guide to Career Development provides a list of ten
things any parent can do to support their student's career development.
- Our four year plan helps students identify concrete steps and
University resources to help them explore their options and make
good career decisions.
- The Guide to Career Center Resources lists common questions
that students have related to career planning, and a sampling
of the services we offer to help students.
We hope you find these resources helpful. Please feel free to
browse our web page for other topics of interest to you, and thanks
for visiting The Career Center.
