FAQs
What should I do before the Fair?
Prioritize your list of schools to make effective use of your time.
If possible, visit the websites of your top schools.
What should I wear?
First impressions count so give some thought to what you wear. Business
casual works, however, keep in mind “business casual” doesn’t mean “classroom casual.” Bottom line—you want the
schools to remember you… not what you’re wearing.
I only have 30 minutes
between classes…should I still come?
Yes!… but maximize your time by checking the list of schools before
the fair and picking your top 3-5 schools. At the Fair, register
at the door and head straight to your top choice school. If there’s a long line move on
to the next one on your list. 30 minutes is plenty of time to connect with 3-4
schools.
What should I bring with me?
Bring your questions for the schools (e.g., what are your course offerings?)
and be prepared to answer questions (e.g., when do you want to attend graduate
school?). No need to bring a resume.
Anything else I should know?
Use our Reference Letter Service to manage your letters of reference.
Most graduate/professional schools request letters of reference as
an important part of the application process. It’s most helpful to request
letters of reference from GSIs/faculty during current courses rather than waiting
until application time which might be several semesters later. Our Reference
Letter Service will help you get an early start on this important part of the
application process.
